Unspoilt paradise

Koh Rong is a Cambodian island in the Gulf of Thailand
Some of the most fantastic beaches found anywhere, and completely unspoilt
Expect no luxury, but head here for a budget and back to basics beach holiday

If you compare their natural abundance, the Thai islands have nothing on Koh Rong. In fact, many would argue that Koh Rong in Cambodia - slightly less than 2/3 the size of Ko Pha Ngan - is more beautiful even than how some of the Thai islands used to be. We use the past tense, as nowadays you tend to have to work quite hard to see the beauty through all the development in those places. Not so on on this island in the Gulf of Thailand, off the coast of Sihanoukville, which is as of yet as unspoilt as it gets.

Get your facts straight though, that means no luxury resorts, no cocktails on the beach (unless you bring them yourselves), and maybe even no electricity. But who needs luxury when you have some of the most brilliantly white beaches at your feet? Just lay back in your hammock, read a book, go for a swim or dive. Maybe even trek into the jungle... heavenly. [Review by travelindicator]
