Koh Lipe (Thailand)

Koh Lipe Travel Guide and Trip Resources

Secluded yet developed

If you are looking for a relatively secluded (i.e. harder to reach) beach getaway in Thailand, but are not part of the backpacker crowd anymore, Koh Lipe may be perfect for you.

This boomerang shaped island, situated in the Tarutao National Marine Park, is approximately 2 miles long and home to several long white-sand beaches with clear and shallow water, some busier than others. Separating the beaches are hills filled with unspoilt jungle. Best thing of it all? There are no cars around!

The most straightforward way to get to this tiny island is to fly to Langkawi and take the ferry from there, though it only goes in high season (November to May). Outside of the high season you can only get here from Pak Barra. [Review by travelindicator]
