Bora Bora is a volcanic island in the Society Islands archipelago of French Polynesia. It is synonymous with, well, turquoise ocean, beaches, honeymoon, splurge holidays... (and splurge you probably will if you go here). I guess you get the idea. Go here for the beaches, quiet and relaxation and most probably for being pampered in some shape or form.
The island is encircled by a lagoon and a barrier reef. The extinct volcano with its peaks Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu rise above the island. The island is about 3 kilometers (2 miles) wide in the middle.
Bora Bora tends to get named in the same lists as places like the Maldives and Seychelles ("best honeymoon destination", etc.), is probably most similar to the latter, and may be the most beautiful of all three. [Review by travelindicator]
