In the desert

Tucson, Arizona is a US city 100km north of the US-Mexico border
Located in the Sonoran desert
Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a must-visit

Tucson (pronounced as "too-sawn") is a city of half a million people in the southern parts of Arizona, at about 100km from the US-Mexican border. Set in the Sonoran desert, the climate is typically dry, with the summers here getting extremely hot while the winters tend to be mild.

One of the top attractions in town is the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, a combination of a natural history museum and botanical gardens and zoo all at the same time. The stunning mission station of San Xavier del Bac on the outside of town is another must-see, its white exterior against the arid background is a sight to behold.

Saguaro National Park, Catalina State Park and the Sabino Canyon are some of the natural attractions outside of town. [Review by travelindicator]
