Janakpur (or Janakpurdham) is a city of historical and religious importance in the southeast of Nepal, near the border with India. It has a population of slightly under 100,000 and is mainly famous for the Janak Temple (pictured), which forms a major attraction for Hindu pilgrims as well as tourists from all over the world.
