Camogli is a small fishing village in northern Italy's Liguria
Half an hour drive from Genova
Romantic town with pretty harbor, castle, churches and narrow alleyways

Camogli, a fishing town of just over 5,000 people to the southeast of Genova on the Italian Riviera, perfectly meets our imagination of a romantic Italian town. A small harbor where the colors of the boats contrast with the blue water, tall pastel colored houses with flowers and clothing lines hanging out the window behind it, and the hills towering above all in the background. An old man sips on a coffee reading the Corriere dello Sport while children frolick on the beach. You get the idea, we suppose.

But really though, Camogli is pretty cool. The main sights are the Dragonara Castle and 12th century Basilica Minore di Santa Maria Assunta, but away from the sea you find a seemingly endless labyrinth of small alleys (caruggi) that are just as interesting to explore. Best of all, this town is not as sleepy as it seems; there are plenty of shops and restaurants. [Review by travelindicator]
