Two sided: sleepy old Mexican town or resort heaven
Magnificent natural scenery like the arid vistas inland and the coastal rock formations of Land's End

Cabo San Lucas, at the very southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Sur is a resort destination pur sang. There didn't used to be much here other than a quiet fishing town until the late 1970s, but that all change when the airport underwent a metamorphosis to become one serving international flights.

In the decades that followed, five star resorts lined its coast, tourists started flocking in and its oceanfront turned into a bustling collective of establishments serving all the hungry thirsty mouths flying in here. If you come here for that type of holiday, you will have to try hard to find a better spot.

An excellent variety of restaurants and clubbing scene, picture perfect beaches (Playa del Amor in between the rocks is the place to be), a plethora of water sports and even natural sights like the rock formations of Land's End will make your stay here lots of fun.

There is of course another side to Cabo San Lucas. That is its original face of a sleepy and oddly romantic Mexican small town in the form of San Jose del Cabo. The main square of Plaza Mijares and church on it are the sights to look out for, as are the art galleries and local shops. [Review by travelindicator]
