Bridgetown (Barbados)

Bridgetown Travel Guide and Trip Resources

Barbados only city

At a population of 110,000, Bridgetown is Barbados largest and capital city. Or in fact its only city, with half of the country's residents residing here. Bridgetown is situated on the south side of the island and not only has miles and miles of fantastic white sand beaches in its vicinity, but also has good duty-free shopping (check out Swan Street and Broad Street), eating and drinking and perhaps most notable about it: historic and colonial sights. Excellent examples of that are St. Michael's Cathedral and the Barbados Parliament Buildings, built in neo-gothic style between 1870-1874. [Review by travelindicator]
