Bangkok is one of Asia's most vibrant, colorful and friendly cities that seemingly has something to offer for everyone. Whether it is temples and palaces, shopping malls and busy markets, spa's and Thai massages, or exciting nightlife of the refined or sleazier variety, you will find it all here. At a population of well over 8 million, the capital of Thailand is also by far its largest city.
No matter what you are here for, make sure to spend some time on at least seeing the cultural highlights that are the Grand Palace and the Wat Pho and Wat Arun temples. If after that you want to continue getting your cultural fix, go on exploring the sights, sounds and smells of Chinatown, or explore the floating market or any of the regular markets. It's all a very colorful attack on the senses.
At the end of the day you can't get around seeing a different side of Bangkok: this city has amazing and wild nightlife. For the later parts of the evening/night, make your own choice between classy clubs and go-go bars. Food-wise, if you have a few days to spend, make sure to not only try some of the classy restaurants, but also try the street food in places like Sukhumvit Soi 38. [Review by travelindicator]
