We will be honest with you. Atrani is a spectacular small town. But visually it does not really stand out from the surroundings towns in any way. But wait! We just chose our words quite awkwardly there as what we were really trying to convey is: Atrani is a gorgeous little town, indeed the stuff movie sets are made of, yet it is far from the only spectacular town around in the region. Come to Italy's Amalfi Coast in the region of Campania and check it out for yourself.
This fishing town is in fact a quieter version of next door Amalfi. Located on a steep mountain, consisting of narrow alleys and white houses climbing up the mountain, this town is most easily accessible from the beach, which makes it slightly more secluded than its neighbour.
The top two things to see in town are the Collegiata di Santa Maria Maddalena church with its belltower, as well as the charming Piazza Umberto 1 with its café's. [Review by travelindicator]
